Best American Restaurant in Port Royal

This little hidden gem absolutely surprised me in the best way possible. The breakfast was outstanding — the pancakes were fluffy and full of flavor, the eggs cooked perfectly, and the sausage and potatoes had that homemade taste that makes you feel right at home. Every bite was fresh, hot, and delicious. The restaurant itself is a small, cute little building with a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to sit back and relax. It may be small in size, but it delivers BIG taste. Parking can be a little challenging right now because of the road construction nearby, but don’t let that stop you from visiting — it’s well worth it. Another huge bonus is the location right next to the Wetlands, which is an amazing place for birding and enjoying nature before or after your meal. Great food, cozy vibe, beautiful surroundings, and flavors that far exceed expectations. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to again.

We were staying on the sea islands and I found this on google. I love the quaint places off the busy areas. It was hard to get to because of construction in front of the restaurant which no fault to them. It was so worth the stop. The staff were so wonderful. The best southern hospitality. The food was so wonderful and large portions. My husband and I had some to take home. A beautiful place to eat visit and walk to see the Cypress Wetlands next door. A definite revisit. I love the beautiful people there.

We went to Griddle & Grits in Beaufort today for breakfast, and wow, what a great experience. Deb had the country fried steak and absolutely went to town on it. She loved every bite. I had the crab cake biscuit with grits, and all I can say is: okay people… the world’s greatest chef may have created these crab cakes. Crab cakes are one of my favorite things to eat, and this was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. It was so good that I had to get the chef’s name before we left so I could properly pay homage to Chef Maurice. And a special thank you to Mikaydyn for taking such great care of us. Great food, great people, and a breakfast we’ll definitely be talking about for a while.

You can tell they take pride in doing the basics really well. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. Add in a relaxed, inviting atmosphere, and it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Highly recommend if you’re in the Port Royal area and craving a great breakfast! 🥞🍳
